Hey, trivia family!

If you’ve been to a Question Maahk night, you know how it goes. Teams pile in, the snacks come out, and somebody inevitably shouts out an answer a little too loud. There’s laughing, some friendly trash talk, and that one round where everybody swears the question was rigged. (It wasn’t. Probably.)

From October 6 through November 19, we’re adding something special to those nights. At every Question Maahk event in Naples, Fort Myers, and Marco Island, you can buy raffle tickets for just $2 each. Every ticket supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Collier County, and every ticket gives you a shot at big prizes from local businesses.

So yes, you can win bragging rights and a great prize on the same night. Not a bad deal.

A cause that’s close to my heart

Let me tell you why this matters so much to me.

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) ignites the potential of children facing adversity through meaningful mentoring relationships. In plain terms, they match kids with adults who show up for them. That might be someone to talk to, someone who cheers them on, or someone who reminds them they matter.

I’ve been a BBBS mentor for four years now, and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. Being part of a kid’s life, even in small ways, changes how you see your own community. When I started Question Maahk Trivia, I knew I wanted it to be about more than questions and answers. I wanted it to bring people together and give something back. This raffle is how we do that.

Each year, the money we raise goes to BBBS programs and community events. It also helps more people learn about the work they’re doing for kids right here at home. Maybe someone at your table hears about BBBS for the first time and decides to get involved. That’s a win too.

What it looks like from your table

I want to be clear about one thing: your trivia night isn’t changing. You’ll still get the same wicked fun questions, the same goofy jokes from yours truly, and the same race to the top of the scoreboard.

The only difference is that you’ll have a chance to grab a few $2 raffle tickets and maybe walk away with something great from one of our local business partners. Buy one, buy ten, or buy one for every teammate who got an answer right. However you play it, you’re helping a kid in our community.

Think of it this way. You were already coming out for a fun night with your crew. Now that night does a little good, too.

A big thank-you to our business partners

None of this works without the businesses that step up. Over the past several years, locally owned businesses and larger companies alike have supported this raffle, and I’m so grateful to every one of them.

This year, I’m hoping to bring even more partners on board. Partners get in front of our awesome trivia community, and BBBS gets more support for local kids. So when you hear a sponsor’s name at trivia, show them some love. Stop in, say thanks, and let them know Question Maahk sent you.

How you can jump in

There are plenty of easy ways to be part of this:

  • Come to trivia anytime between October 6 and November 19.
  • Grab some raffle tickets for $2 each and try your luck at big prizes from local businesses.
  • Bring your crew, and maybe that friend who swears they’re “wicked smaht.”
  • Spread the word by telling your friends, family, and coworkers about the raffle.
  • Own a business? I’d love to talk about partnering. Reach me at 239-877-7633 or through questionmaahk.com.

See you at trivia!

At the end of the day, Question Maahk is about community. It’s about the regulars who’ve become friends, the first-timers who leave as fans, and the kids we get to help along the way.

So come hungry, come competitive, and bring a couple of bucks for raffle tickets. Let’s have some laughs, answer some questions, and do a little good while we’re at it.

See you out there!

Mark
